What this service is, and is not

Structuraline performs an automated comparison of a schedule file against rules derived from published specification documents. It produces a list of findings, each citing the section and the sentence it rests on.

It is not an engineering service and it does not provide an engineering opinion. No output of this service constitutes a professional certification, a professional judgment, an approval, or a warranty that any schedule will be accepted. No licensed professional engineer reviews your schedule as part of this service, and nothing here is offered as the practice of engineering under the licensure laws of any US state.

The findings are not legal advice and are not a substitute for reading your own contract. Specifications are revised, contracts amend them, and the governing document is always the one attached to your contract — not our reading of the published edition. Verifying every finding against your actual contract remains your responsibility.

Whether a schedule submittal is accepted is decided by your Contracting Officer or the owner’s representative, on the whole submission. We are not a party to that decision and have no influence over it.

No government affiliation

Structuraline is an independent commercial product. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, the New York State Office of General Services, the New York City Department of Design and Construction, the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Texas Department of Transportation, or any other government body.

Agency names, specification titles and section numbers appear on this site for one purpose: to identify the public documents a rule is derived from, so you can check our reading against the source. No government seal, emblem, insignia or logo is reproduced anywhere on this site or in any report: 18 U.S.C. 701 restricts the use of official insignia, and we would not want to imply an endorsement nobody gave in any case.

Specification texts quoted in our rules and reports are, to our understanding, public documents issued by the bodies named. They are quoted in short extracts for identification and verification. All other content on this site and in the reports — the rule set, the software and the wording — is ours.

Your schedule file

A schedule carries your cost loading, your sequence and your float. We treat the file you upload as confidential commercial information.

  • What we do with it. We parse it, run the rules against it, and generate your report. Nothing else.
  • AI. As part of the check, small parts of the schedule are processed by an AI service that makes no use of the information.
  • Who sees it. No person outside the service. We do not sell, license, share or publish your file or its contents, and we do not use it to train any model.
  • How long we keep it — your choice. By default we keep your schedule file and its report, so that your report link keeps working and so that the file is on hand if you ask us to check it again. They are stored with our hosting provider, in a separate folder for each account, and used only to provide this service to you. The report opens from its link without signing in: the link is long, unguessable and listed nowhere, and anyone you give it to can open it. If you tick “Do not keep my schedule or this report” when you upload, the report is delivered to you once — on screen, or, where the check runs in the background, attached to an email — and is not stored; the file is deleted as soon as the report is delivered. If that email cannot be delivered, the report waits on an unlisted page for up to 48 hours and is then deleted. We keep only a line recording that a check ran, with the number of activities and findings, and not the file name — and, when you checked it under one of your projects, your answers to the questionnaire, kept with that project so that you are not asked them again. You can delete any report and its kept file yourself, at any time, with the Delete button beside it on your account page; that removes the report, the file and the summary we noted for it, and leaves only the record that a check was run. We also delete anything we hold for you on request.
  • What we note about each check. For a check you let us keep, beside the report we keep a short summary of where the schedule stood: its data date, its forecast and contract completion dates, its least float and how many activities were critical or behind; which version of our engine and which rule set produced the report; a checksum of the file; and a coded signature of its activity IDs, keyed with a secret only our server holds, so that your next report on the same project can tell you what moved since this one. None of it contains an activity name, and none of it can be turned back into your schedule.
  • Where it is processed. On servers operated by our hosting provider, and by an operator located in Israel. If your contract restricts where project data may be processed or stored, do not upload the file.
04

Controlled and export-restricted information

Do not upload Controlled Unclassified Information, classified information, or export-controlled technical data to this service.

A federal construction schedule may be CUI. If your contract includes DFARS 252.204-7012, you are obliged to safeguard covered defense information on the systems that process it, to the standard of NIST SP 800-171. This service has not been assessed against NIST SP 800-171, is not FedRAMP authorized, and is not a covered contractor information system. Uploading controlled information to it may place you in breach of your own contract.

The same applies to technical data controlled under ITAR or the EAR.

If you are unsure whether your schedule is controlled, ask your Contracting Officer before you upload it, not after. If you need this checked and cannot send the file, tell us — there are ways to run a check that never move your data, and we would rather build one than have you take the risk.

Terms of service

By using this service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

The service. You upload a schedule file and choose the specification to check it against. We return a report of findings. The first report is free. Further reports are charged at the price shown at the time you buy.

Your responsibilities. You confirm that you are entitled to upload the file, that doing so breaches no obligation you owe to anyone else, and that the file contains no controlled information as described above. You may not use the service to attack, overload, reverse-engineer or resell it.

No warranty. The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it is free of errors, that it will detect every deficiency in your schedule, or that a schedule passing every check will be accepted. Specifications change and rules can be wrong. Every report tells you which requirements it could not check, and that list is part of the product rather than a disclaimer.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost payments, withheld progress payments, delay costs or rejected submittals, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Refunds. If a report fails to generate, or a finding turns out to misquote or misapply the specification it cites, tell us and we will refund that report in full. We would also like to know, because that is a defect.

Changes and termination. We may change these terms; the effective date above will change with them, and continued use after that is acceptance. You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of Israel, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel. Nothing here removes a consumer protection you have under the mandatory law of the place you live.

06

Privacy

What we collect. The email address you give us; the schedule file you upload and any contract details you choose to supply; the reports we generate for you; ordinary server logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested) kept for security and diagnosis; and a first-party record of which pages are opened.

That page record, precisely. One row per page view holding six things: the path of the page, the time, the referring site’s host name, the specification key if your visit carried one, an identifier from a cookie we set for this and nothing else, and — only while you are signed in — your account, so that we can see the route an actual customer took rather than an anonymous one. It does not store your IP address and it does not store your browser string.

Two details that matter. We keep the referring host only, never the full referring address, which can carry the words you typed into a search engine. And where a page address itself contains a link we sent you — your upload link, your report — we store the shape of it and not the value, because those links are keys to your account and your report and we will not keep a second copy of them.

It exists so we can see which pages are useful and where people give up. It stays on our own server and it reaches no one else. Clearing this site’s cookies stops us recognising your browser from then on; it does not erase rows already written, and while you are signed in your account identifies you regardless of the cookie. To have what we hold deleted, ask us — see Your rights below.

Why. To run the check you asked for, to send you the link to your report, and to keep the service working and secure. Nothing else.

What we do not do. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your schedule to train any model. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on this site — the page record described above is our own, on our own server, and no analytics company receives anything about your visit.

Who processes it. Our hosting provider and our email delivery provider, each acting only to deliver the service. Our pages also load two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. That is a font file and not a tracker — we run no advertising or analytics on this site — but it is a third party your browser contacts because of us, so it belongs on this list. We intend to serve the fonts ourselves and remove it.

Your rights. Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you rights to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, and exercising any of these rights will never result in worse service or a different price.

Email. We email you the link to your check and the link to your report. Those are transactional messages about work you asked us to do, and each one identifies us and can be replied to. We do not currently send marketing email at all; if that ever changes, those messages will carry our postal address and a working unsubscribe link we honor promptly, as CAN-SPAM requires, and you will have had to ask for them first. We never sell or rent your address.

Children. This is a service for construction businesses. It is not directed to anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to uploaded files is limited to the operator. No service can promise perfect security, and we do not promise it here.

07

Accessibility

Our customers are federal and public-sector contractors, for whom accessibility is a contractual matter rather than a preference. It would be a poor look to sell to them from a site they could not use.

We build this site and the reports to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which is the standard Section 508 incorporates for information and communication technology. Concretely, in the parts we control:

  • Every colour that carries meaning is checked against the surface behind it by a test in our build, so a change that drops text below the AA contrast ratio fails before it reaches you rather than after.
  • Severity is never signalled by colour alone. Every finding carries a shape, a word and a rule identifier as well as a colour, and the palette is validated for colour-vision deficiency rather than chosen by eye.
  • Content is keyboard reachable with a visible focus indicator, and motion is suppressed for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
  • Reports are structured HTML that a screen reader can navigate, and every figure carries a text description of what it shows.

If any part of this site or a report is not usable for you, tell us at info@structuraline.com and say what failed. We will fix it and tell you when it is done.
